Up Close and Personal

Hobbies - Racing, boating, shreddin the Glamis dunes on a 4 wheeler

Favorite Racing Moment - 1986 Perris California Raceway I got the hole shot in my 1st Pro Race on a 3 wheeler against my cousin (and now crew chief) Bryon Harder.

Most Embarrassing Moment - After the awesome hole shot in Perris I hit a rut, knocked myself silly and the flagman had to show me which direction the pits were.

What led to interest in Lucas Oil Off Road Racing?

Chris Brandt was born in Sioux City, Iowa. By the age of 7 he moved to Southern California and began riding 3 wheelers. He was hooked on the sport of racing after seeing Ascot in Gardena. By age 15 he was racing against Ascot in the 3 & 4 wheel class. He then went on to race in the Mickey Thompson series and ended up finishing consistently in the top four.

By the 1990’s Chris went on to race in the Golden State Series and taking multiple wins. By 1993 he started racing trucks in the Great Plains Off-Road Racing Association and took 1st. He then went on placing 1st in the Great Plains Off-Road Racing for the next 4 years driving the sport truck. He also had multiple wins at the time in the modified buggy division. Suring these years he would also be seen riding his 4 wheeler and it wasn’t uncommon for him to have wins in all 3 events, which earned him the title “Iron Man”.

For the next few years he raced in the PACE series and took 1st and 4th in the Stadium Sport Truck. It wasn’t until 1999 when he began to race in the CORR series. During his first year in CORR Racing he ended up taking 3rd in the overall points standings for the Pro Lite Division, as well as, Rookie of the Year for CORR. By 2000 Chris ended up taking 2nd in the overall points standings for the Pro Lite division in CORR, and 1st in the PACE series in the Stadium Sport Truck. In 2001 Chris raced a few here and there but mostly turned his focus on the family business and starting a family of his own. It is now 2008 and Chris is back with a vengeance…in it for the long haul and is ready to have some fun and rack up the wins.

Chris is the most consistent privateer driver in the sport today. His skill and determination are the two keys that make that possible. Joining up with Premiere Motorsports Group will allow him to focus more intensely on driving and gain sponsor’s attention to expand on the momentum which will catapult him to the next level.

Chris Brandt has racked up 7 top 3 finishes in the 2009 Lucas Oil off Road Racing Season and has finished only 1 race off the podium. Not only that Brandt has commited to double duty and earned 4 podium finsihes in the TORC Series.
