Up Close and Personal

What led to interest in Lucas Oil off Road Racing, other Racing Highlights and Accomplishments? Carey Hart was born on July 17, 1975 in Seal Beach, California and grew up in Las Vegas Nevada.  At the age of four his father bought him his first motocross bike in hopes of spending quality time with is son.  However, his father did not know that soon his son would become one of the most recognizable names in Freestyle Motocross history. Carey was hooked to the sport and by high school he was a professional Motocross Rider racing in the AMA Supercross circuit.

As time went on Carey started riding with a couple guys who were interested in a more innovative and expressive form of Motocross.  So in 1998, Freestyle Motocross was born with Carey leading the way.  In 2001 Carey became the inventor of what was called the Hart Attack.  At the 2001 Gravity Games Carey carved his name in the record books as the first rider ever to complete a back flip on a 250 cc motorcycle. 

Not only is Carey one of the most innovative riders in this sport, he also has a passion for tattoos. This passion turned into a business venture in 2004 when he teamed up with fellow entrepreneur, John Huntington. Together these men began what is known as one of the largest tattoo companies around, Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company. They opened their first shop in the Palms Casino in Las Vegas Nevada, which then opened many other doors for the two with a television show on the A&E Network. “INKED”, was the name of the hit show which followed him around showing the workings of his shop. Now with Hart & Huntington well known through out the country and in the industry, Carey teamed up with Josh Merrell of Liquid Graphics for the manufacturing and design of Hart & Huntington the clothing line which is sold nation wide.

Carey is now on another adventure. This past summer Carey has opened a signature nightlife innovation called “Wasted Space” in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Wasted Space is a lavishly decadent rock club that brings authentic high-end rock n’ roll culture and a one-of-a-kind nightlife experience. On top off a new night club and joining this new adventurous sport Carey will be moving his tattoo shop from the Palms Hotel and Casino in Vegas to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino where he just opened his night club.

If that isn’t enough, Carey Hart has committed 100% to the Rockstar Hart & Huntington PMG Racing Team and is dedicated to be out on the track doing what he does best, breaking records, creating endless excitement for the crowds, and becoming a well known name in Lucas Oil off Road Racing in the near future. 

The 2009 Lucas Oil off Road Racing Season has only just begun, but Carey Hart is out to prove he means business. Already at LOORS very first weekend during Round 2 he finished two races, earning a 7th place finish in both.
